It amused me on Monday to find myself needing the air conditioner. The irony stems from a memory dating back to February 6, 2019. Working in news, particularly during winter, presents challenges like battling icy conditions and snow coverage. During that period, I was employed at KSHB-TV in Kansas City, where we faced substantial snowfall. Snow coverage in KC differed from other markets I'd worked in before. Notably, we had access to a remarkable Jeep equipped with cameras and live broadcasting capabilities, tailored for navigating harsh weather conditions. While covering snow in places like Wichita and Pittsburg wasn't my favorite task, reporting on such weather events in Kansas City proved enjoyable. On that particular day, we were in Johnson County, covering icy conditions. I vividly remember having to clean the cameras outside, and it was also one of my first experiences driving a Jeep.
