This narrative dates back to January 30, 2017, when I was involved in the morning show for Where's Shane, specifically handling the live segments. Our live shots typically took place between 6 am and 9 am. Preferring the traditional approach, I opted for the live truck over the TVU, a backpack device utilizing cell towers. The live truck had no delay, allowing for seamless interaction between Shane and the studio anchors.
On this particular morning, we faced a unique challenge in downtown Wichita, Kansas, surrounded by towering buildings reminiscent of the grain elevators in my hometown. Our assignment was to go live from the 4th floor of a building near Intrust Bank Arena. I relished the challenge of pushing cables to their limits; it was like solving a puzzle. The situation became more interesting when I discovered that the room we were in had a window. seizing the opportunity, I decided to drop the cable out of the window, spanning four floors down to the ground. This period of my life taught me valuable lessons in brainstorming and creativity.
