When I worked in Wichita, I used to do the morning shift and had a segment called "Where’s Shane," which was similar to something you'd see on the Today Show. I was about 40 minutes from Hutchinson, Kansas, home of the Kansas State Fair. One of my favorite mornings was on September 14, 2017, when we went live from the fair and made pronto pups. They're a fair staple, made with pancake batter, which I think tastes way better than regular corn dogs. Covering the state fair was one of my best memories in Wichita, always such a positive experience. Honestly, I kind of want to drive back just for a pronto pup—and maybe a stop at Carriage Crossing in Yoder, Kansas, too!
